VARSITY BASEBALL:
The Varsity Baseball team beat DAC foe Valparaiso by a score of 8-2 yesterday making their record 14-9 (6-7 DAC). Allen Barrett tossed a complete game, scattering 4 hits and striking out 5. Tommy Mosley had 3 hits to lead the offense, while Gabe Acevedo and Tony Cheky each had 2 hits for the Indians. Myles Mendoza lined a shot to center to plate 2 runs in the win.
JV BASEBALL:
The JV Baseball team lost to Valparaiso last night 5-3 making their record 12-11 (5-5 DAC). Zach Thorn had two hits for Portage.
FRESHMAN BASEBALL:
The Freshman Baseball team defeated Valpo last night 8-7 making their record 13-5-1 (6-1-1 DAC). Eric Mesarch pitched the last four innings to pick up the win. Offensively the Indians pounded out 16 hits, with 12 hits and 8 runs coming from the last 3 innings to pull off a come from behind win! Contributing offensively for Portage: Eric Mesarch, Mitch Kobitz, Brad Stemple, Seth White, Tyler Soberg all had two hits. CJ Haupt was 4 for 5 with 3 RBI’s (2RBI’s in the 7th to give Portage the lead in the 7th inning).
