PNW North Central Students Compete in 2016 Hyde Park Forum and Speak Off Public Speaking Contest

PNW-North-Central-Students-Compete-in-2016-Hyde-Park-Forum-and-Speak-Off-Public-Speaking-ContestPurdue University Northwest student Jenna Diehl, of LaPorte, was recently declared winner of the North Central campus 33rd Hyde Park Forum and Speak Off public speaking contest.

The Hyde Park Forum brings together students to present short speeches on topics of current interest. The speeches are thought-provoking, insightful and often present new or differing points of view. Topics range from commentary on current news, observations of the social or cultural climate or a subject of interest to the speaker.

Students who earned first-place recognition in the Hyde Park Forum, went on to compete in the Speak Off competition.

Earning second place in the Speak Off was Zachary Jakubowski, of Chesterton; third place, Kimberly Childress, of LaPorte and fourth place, Allen Murray, of Michigan City.

Overall second place Hyde Park Forum winners were: Teagan Nelson, of Valparaiso; Kristen Wozniak, of LaPorte; Connor Lindsey, of Hobart and Dominique Arrington, of Westville.

Overall third place Hyde Park Forum winners were: Rebecca Blankenship, of Valparaiso; Jeremy Burnette, of Hebron; Brittany Hnida, of St. John; Elycia Delgado, of Hobart.
