The evening will feature dinner followed by a panel discussion about how to start an internship program within an organization. The cost is $20 for professionals and $12 for students with a valid student ID.

The panel will include three professionals who will share advice and information about offering internships to capable students. PNC students have invited student SHRM members from area universities to attend this event.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 4 p.m. The program will begin at 4:30 and last about an hour. A ceremony of appreciation will follow. The event is expected to conclude at 6 p.m.

The Northwest Indiana Society for Human Resource Management (NWI SHRM) professional chapter and Northern Indiana Human Resource Management Association (NIHRMA) sponsor the PNC Society for Human Resource Management student chapter.

Several PNC students will be honored during a Ceremony of Appreciation. Among them will be Stephanie Smith. Smith is a member of the PNC Society for Human Resource Management student chapter who recently passed the Professional in Human Resources Exam. In recognition of her successful completion of the exam, she will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement as well as a scholarship funded by the chapter.

The PNC students will also thank their sponsoring chapters for their support. The sponsors have invited the students to attend their meetings and workshops and NWI SHRM members have sponsored PNC students to cover their workshop registration fees.

"They helped us with our objectives while we work toward achieving the national SHRM Superior Merit Award," said Cassandra Chester, president of the PNC SHRM student chapter and one of the event organizers.
