PNC Promotes Faculty Members

Purdue University North Central announces that the Purdue University Board of Trustees approved the promotion of seven faculty members. PNCThese promotions become effective with the 2010-2011 academic year. Those promoted are:

Dr. Thomas F. Brady, to full professor of Industrial Engineering. Brady joined the PNC faculty in 1998 as assistant professor Industrial Engineering Technology. He was promoted to associate professor of Industrial Engineering Technology in 2002. He also serves as chair of the PNC Department of Engineering Technology. Brady earned his bachelor's, master's and PhD. from Purdue University.

Dr. Michael Connolly, to Associate Professor of History. Connelly joined PNC as an assistant professor in 2004. He earned his bachelor's degree from St. Michael's College and was granted his master's degree and Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America.

Dr. Sharron Jenkins, to Associate Professor of Chemistry. Jenkins has been a member of the PNC faculty since 2005. She earned her bachelor's degree from North Carolina A&T and holds a Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago.

Rosa E. Rivera-Hainaj, to Associate Professor of Chemistry. She came to PNC in 2006 as an assistant professor of Chemistry. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus and her Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Carolyn Roper, to Associate Professor of Organizational Leadership and Supervision. She was a Continuing Lecturer of Organizational Leadership and Supervision at PNC in 2004 and became an Assistant Professor of Organizational Leadership and Supervision in 2009. She earned her bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. from Purdue University.

Sarah Sanders Smith, to Associate Professor of Organizational Leadership and Supervision. Sanders Smith joined PNC as an assistant professor in 2004. She holds an MBA from Ball State University and a bachelor's degree from Purdue University.

Dr. Alain S. Togbe, to full Professor of Mathematics. Togbe joined the PNC faculty in 2003 and was promoted to associate professor of Mathematics in 2006. He earned his bachelor's degree from National University of Benin; and earned his master's degree and Ph.D. from Laval University in Quebec, Canada.

"These faculty members consistently promote excellence in the classroom. They challenge their students to learn and explore and they are willing to pass their knowledge and experience along to their students.
