PNC Nursing Students Donate to Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity

PNCThe Purdue University North Central students in the Community Health Nursing class recently collected hundreds of items to donate to the Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity in Gary, to be distributed to deserving individuals.

The sisters serve the needs of the community in many ways and provide shelter for homeless women and children.

The students donated items to help keep people warm through the winter including hats, gloves and socks, as well as a variety of school supplies such as notebooks, pencils and backpacks.

"It is our way of assisting to address the needs of the community," said Peggy Rose, PNC assistant professor of Nursing, who coordinated the collection effort.
