PHS Students Take Part in Project Lead the Way

PLTW-Project Lead the Way, is the premier STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) curriculum in our nation’s schools. Portage High School has been Porter County’s leader in the PLTW initiative since 1998, with a robust curriculum and an enrollment boasting nearly 250 students this year. PHS PLTW courses include:

  • Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)
  • Principles of Engineering (POE)
  • Digital Electronics (DE)
  • Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)
  • Engineering Design and Development (EDD)
  • Principles of Biomedical Sciences (PBS)

In a joint effort to further promote and recognize Portage High School’s PLTW program, Mark Fischer’s Graphics Imaging Technology class produced large PLTW window decals which are featured on the front of Portage High School. Students were tasked with the design, layout, fabrication and installation.
