PHS Students Honor Jade Sleaford

Jade-SleafordTragedy struck the Portage High School family when 17 year old PHS junior Jade Sleaford passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012.  Since Sleaford’s death, PHS students have found different ways to help honor and remember her.  Junior Ian DePerio created this moving video to bring attention and awareness to a very important cause.  We at PortageLife.com are honored to show the video on his behalf. The support of the community is evident through the fact that the video has surpassed 3000 views just a day after being posted.

Ian DePerio has also launched a Facebook page called Make a Difference, Save a Life-

A group of PHS students is working on a project called Jars for Jade.  Look for collection jars all around Portage to make a donation to the Sleaford familyHere is a link to the Jars for Jade Facebook page.

Junior Olivia Forrester has been selling green ribbons with Jade’s name on them at PHS for $1.  The proceeds from those sales also benefit Jade’s family.
