PHS JROTC Starts the School Year and Hits the Ground Running

1st-source-jrotcThe Portage High School Marine Corps JROTC has hit the ground running - starting the new school year with plenty of Cadets volunteering for community service.

Our first event was supporting the Portage-Mishawaka Varsity Game on Friday, 22 August with 28 cadets raising the ceremonial US flag & the pre-game posting of the PHS JROTC Color Guard.

Eight PHS Cadets supported the annual Portage VFW Picnic on the 23rd & 24th of August, assisting the VFW staff with set-up and clean-up.

Five PHS Cadets participated in the Aukiki Festival in Kouts, supporting event staff with parking and clean up.

Cadet Dariann Pfieffer is of to an exceptional start earning 19 hours of community service in a single weekend.
