PHS Freshman Rally Around Student Manager

Written by Nick Haas, PHS Freshmen Football Coach

With about three weeks left in the freshmen football season, I had 4 kids on the team come to me and ask if our manager could score a touchdown on the last play of the 5th quarter of our last game. Our manager is a student who can physically not play football due to circumstances beyond his control (conjoined twin at birth).

I spoke with the La Porte coaches before the game and they were very cooperative and helpful in making this happen. They made sure their players didn't touch him while he was running.

The players on our team would do anything for our manager and would always try to make sure that he felt part of the team. They really wanted him to experience scoring a touchdown and I know for sure helped give this student an experience he will never forget.
