The girls cross country team placed 19th out of 35 teams at the Culver Academies Invite on Saturday. Portage’s top five runners were, Kyra Ball, Paige Pizer, Erin Reynolds, Rhyan Sloan and Mariah Blackwell. In the Reserve race Portage was led by three freshmen. Stephanie Waters, Delaney Barcelli and Haley Orshonsky
The boys’ varsity soccer team beat Highland on Saturday 2-1. Goals were made by Taylor Felinski and Logan Cole, assists by Nate Johnson.
JV won 2-1. Goals by Justin McGhee and Julio Pena, assist by Vince Meade.
Volleyball participated in the Crown Point tournament on Saturday winning 1 out of 3 matches. Mariah Wright with 27 kills, 42 digs; Michaela Miller 30 Assists, 30 digs; Abby Alexander 7 aces, 39 digs; Josi Auksel 9 blocks
