The baseball team lost to LaPorte 8-5 last night. The Indians were led by Tony Cheky and Zach Thorn who each had 2 hits on the day.
The JV baseball team lost to LaPorte 5-10. Eric Mesarch was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s. Patrick Derr was 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Justin Newcomb hit a homerun in the 6th inning. Ty Kniola hit a double and scored once. Branden Gardenhire hit a double and scored once.
The Varsity Softball team lost to LaPorte 6-8. Natalie Korpak had a double and 2 runs scored. Kylie Someson had a basehit and a double, Kristen Ashby hit a homerun with 2 RBI’s and scored 1 run scored.
Portage JV softball team beat LaPorte last night 9-1. Brittany Adams went 3-4 with 2 RBI’s. She also struck out 7 to get her 4th win of the season. Katie Peksenak added 2 hits with a homerun Stephanie Upton went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s Cloe Carda added 3 hits and Katie Richerson added 2 hits
The freshman team beat Hobart 16-6. Sam Schest was 3 for 3 with a double 2 runs scored and 3 RBI’s. Alec Coates 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s, Cody Bruns 2 for 3 with a double and 3 runs scored. Mike Lattaniz was 2 for 4 with a triple 2 runs scored and an RBI and Jon Velez was solid on the mound to get the win.
