The Varsity Baseball team beat Munster 4-3 on Friday night. Tony Cheky who went 3 for 4 while Mike Brunner collected 2 hits and 2 RBI’s led the offense. Corey Garzella also added 2 hits for the Indians. Cody Jackson pitched a complete game to pick up his 3rd win on the season.
On Saturday the Indians showed great fight as they came from behind to beat Lowell 6-5 in the 7th inning. Nate Ramian and Tommy Mosley each had 2 hits for the Indians while Myles Mendoza picked up 2 RBI's. Mike Brunner laced a game winning single to allow Alan Barrett to pick up his first varsity win on the mound. Michael Torres made a game changing diving catch in left field to spark the come back. The Indians face the #1 team in the state, Crown Point, at home on Tuesday. Their record is now 4-1.
JV BASEBALL:
Friday the JV Baseball team lost to Munster 11-9. Steven Saylor had 5 innings of shutout pitching.
On Saturday the JV Baseball team came back and defeated Lowell 17-5 making their record 2-2. Andrew Brown, Zach Simmons, Jacob Bothwell, Zach Vardaman and Zach Thorn all had two hits. Good pitching performance by Riley Thompson.
