PHS Athletics Weekend Roundup: Girls & Boys Track, Golf, Freshman Baseball

Results from Lime City Relays: Portage Girls finished 3rd overall at the Lime City relays with 88 team points:

Top Point earners: Madison Kurtz with 18 and Ashley Sosbe with 15. Ashley Sosbe won the Discus and placed 5th in the Shot Put Tara Kostelnik placed 2nd in the shot Put , while Madison Kurtz placed 3rd in the 300 Hurdles, 4th in the 100 Hurdles and 5th in the Pole Vault. Rhyan Sloan placed 4th in the 3200 meter run improving her season best to 11:53.18. Other top Finishers include: Ali Johnson, Simone Barnes, Paige Pizer, Katie Engel, Keanna Crum and Abby Trader.

Boys Track competed at the Lime City Relays in Huntington Saturday coming home with the team championship and a win over 10th ranked Ft Wayne Carroll. Individual champions for the Indians were:

Joey Little - Shot Put Alvin Best - High Jump Mitch Rodriguez - Pole Vault Jeron Blake - 100m Dash the 4x100 Relay of Lorenzo Well, Alvin Best, Alex Sanchez, Jeron Blake the 4x400 Relay of Alex Sanchez, Othie Freeny, Jeron Blake, Alvin Best Runner Up Performances Logan Fischer - Discus Lorenzo Wells - 300 Hurdles Middle Distance Relay - Alvin Best, Dustin Balboa, David Clegg, Gemel Tribble 4x800 Relay - Ty Crawford, Dustin Balboa, Gemel Tribble, Tom Duff.

Boys golf tied for 6th out of 16 at the KV Invite shooting a 368. Nick Lewis shot 79 finishing in a three way tie for 2nd.

Freshman baseball won 13-3 vs Bishop Noll. Daniel Moro and Jared Ford each had 3 hits. Conner Litzgow, Hunter Kraynak and Braden Majewski each had 2 hits. Hunter Kraynak pitched a complete game and was the winning pitcher.
