PHS Athletics Roundup: Tennis, Softball, Baseball All in Action

In tennis, the varsity won 4-1 over Lake Central. Mandy Haupt was MVP at #2 singles. JV lost 3-2.

The varsity golf team carded a 169 last night which gave them a win over M’ville (213) but a loss to LaPorte (164). Nick Lewis, Tep Junyanid and Tyler Gonzalez carded a 42 and Jordan Henson a 43. JV scored a 192 which beat M’ville (247) but lost to LaPorte 169. Collin Graber 44, Noah Kunstek 46, Top Pronpudpong 47.

The varsity softball team beat Michigan City 6-0. Dalton Minor went 1 for 2 with 3 RBI’s. JV won 13-3. Rachel Major and Madi Jercha worked together on the mound to capture the win.

Kris Springman struck out 12 to pick up a key DAC win against Michigan City, 5-4. Travis Marsh, Gabe Acevedo, & Justin Newcomb each had a pair of hits and a RBI to lead the offense. Andrew Brown hit the game winning run in to give the Indians the win. JV won 14-5. Blake Logsdon 3 for 3 w/4 runs, 1 RBI. Chris Lkenk 2 for 3 w/2 RBI’s, Jake Bearss 2 for 3 w/2 RBI’s, Sam Schest 2 for 4 w/3 RBI’s and Pete Psomadelis pitched 6 innings w/only 3 hits and no earned runs and he was 2 for 4 at the plate.

Freshman baseball beat the M.C. Wolves 13-0. Jarrod Ford pitched a complete game, no hitter with 10 strike outs. He also had 2 hits.
