Standouts for Portage: The 4x800 Relay team of Abby Trader, Paige Pizer, Erin Reynolds, and Keanna crum finished 2nd, Shakiea Boyd finished 2nd in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Paige Pizer finished 2nd in the 1600 meter run while Tara Kostelnik finished with a throw of 33'7.25 to lead portage in the shot put. The lady indians return to action Saturday in the raider relays.

Girls’ varsity tennis team beat Wheeler 5-0. JV lost 1-4.

The boys’ golf team split last night beating North Newton 191-219, losing to Boone Grove 191-169.

Varsity softball lost to LaPorte 3-10. Kaitlin Doud and Haley Hodges each had a double. Alexis Johnson and Lauren Murray added a hit. Doud and Stephanie Upton each had an RBI. JV team won 8-2. Megan Statler, Lauren Winiky, Rachel Smock, Annebelle Karagias went 2-4. Taylor Mora and Madi Jercha 3-4. Abby Alexander added a hit and Madi Jercha went the distance, striking out 13.

The varsity baseball team remained a perfect 6-0 with a come from behind conference win. Trailing Laporte 5-3 entering the last inning, the Indians strung together multiple hits to tie the game on Zach Simmon's single up the middle. With 2 outs, Eric Mesarch blasted the game winning hit to right field, scoring Patrick Derr to beat Laporte 6-5. Gabe Acevedo and Andrew Brown led the way with 3 hits a piece, while Zach Simmons and Tyler Soberg each added a pair of hits. Travis Marsh had 2 RBIs in the win. JV won 2-1
