In basketball action, the boys’ varsity basketball team lost to the Crown Point Bulldogs 40-74. Skyer Moss had 15 points and 6 rebounds. (overall 4-6, DAC 2-3) The JV team lost 41-52. Luke Kizer and Tyler Gonzales both had 17 points. (overall1-6, DAC 0-5)
The Lady Indians varsity team beat Griffith 40-38. Portage had an awesome defensive win over Griffith with Alyssa Tampier scoring 9 points. (overall 2-9, DAC 0-7) The JV team walked away with a win 35-26 and Alexis Johnson led the Indians with 10 points. Nice Job Ladies!!!! (overall 8-3, DAC 4-3)
The Freshman Boys “A” team won last night beating the Hobart Brickies 43-22. Dustin Balboa 13 points, Nate Johnson 8 points, Cameron Vaughn 9 points and Jacob Bears 6 rebounds. (overall 4-4, DAC 2-4)
Your boys swim team lost last night to Crown Point by a score of 116-70. This brings their record to 3-4 (1-4 DAC). 1st place finishes were turned in by Garrett Piers, Matt Bliss, Mikey Janes, and Cole Ozbolt. Tons of good swims and dives to honor our seniors for their last home meet. Our next meet will be Saturday at the Portage Diving Invitational. Nice job guys!
