The varsity girls’ cross country team placed 7th out of 30 teams on Saturday. Paige Pizer led the Indians in 18th place. In the JV race Janee Escobedo and Keanna Crum had top ten finishes.
The Portage Boys varsity team placed a respectable 12th at the New Prairie Invite this weekend, going 17 11 on the day. The Reserve and the Frosh soph teams also ran very well placing 6th and 10th respectively. Outstanding Performances were had by Dustin Balboa, Anthony Best, Max Zmija, Tylor Hudson, Dylan Logsdon, Zack Swets, and Colin Chenoweth.
In boys’ soccer, the varsity team beat Griffith 2-0. Logan Cole and Alex Becker each scored a goal, Oscar Tinoco had an assist, Austin Lee had 4 saves and Luke Kizer had 2. The JV team had a 0-0 tie and Luke Kizer had 6 saves for the Indians.
