Portage High School softball team is going to State next Saturday!!!!! In the first game on Saturday, Portage beat Northridge 2-0. Stephamnie Upton had a triple and scored a run, Jalise McKnight added a hit and an RBI, Haley Hodges had an RBI, Kiley Jones only gave up 4 hits to get her 14th win.
Game 2 Portage beat Huntington North 2-1, Lauren Murray had a double and an RBI, Alexis Johnson added a hit and an RBI, Kaitlin Doud had a hit, a stolen base and 2 runs scored, Stephanie Upton had a hit, Kiley Jones struck out 9 to get the win.
State next Saturday 6:30 our time at Ben Davis HS in Indy!!!!
Jade McKnight placed 6th in the Long Jump at Sate.
Varsity golf team qualified for the Regionals By placing third at Sectionals. Tep Junyanid had the high score of 80, followed by Nick Lewis with an 82, Tyler Gonzalez with an 83, and Jordan Henson with an 86. They will play next Friday in Lafayette. Way to go golfers!!
Baseball lost to Lake Central at Regionals on Saturday 9-4.
Your boys' track team represented Portage High School in 6 events at the State Finals at IU, Blomington on Friday.
Earning medals and all-state honors were: The 4x800 Relay team of David Clegg, Dustin Balboa, Gemel Tribble & Tommy Martin in 8th place, The 4x100 Relay team of Dushan Holmes, Lorenzo Wells, Jared Nieves, Jeron Blake in 8th place, And Jeron Blake in both the 100 & 200 dashes with two 7th places.
The 4x400 Relay team of David Clegg, Alex Sanchez, Jeron Blake & Lorenzo Wells was 11th place and Lorenzo Wells was 13th in the 300 Hurdles.
Overall, the Indians finished as a top 25 team, placing 24th overall.
