PCACS Board President Serves Community Through Roles

Ethan-Lowe“Serving on the PCACS board is an opportunity for me to give back to the residents of Porter County,” he said. “I strongly believe in giving back to the community in which my family and I live.”

Lowe is president of the Porter County Aging and Community Services’ board of directors.

“I am responsible for conducting the meetings of the board and serving on the executive committee along with the other officers,” he said. “I also work closely with PCACS’ executive director, Bruce Lindner.”

Lowe said PCACS has a vital role in Porter County.

“PCACS offers a number of services to assist seniors, disabled individuals and low-income residents of Porter County. The services offered by PCACS improve the quality of life of our clients,” he said. “By improving the quality of life of our clients, PCACS is contributing towards the betterment of Porter County and Northwest Indiana.

“I enjoy the opportunity to serve on the board of an agency that on a daily basis contributes towards improving the lives of the residents of Porter County and Northwest Indiana.”

PCACS’ offerings include door-to-door transportation service, energy assistance and senior nutrition programs, State Health Insurance Assistance Program counseling and Section 8 services.

“PCACS’ services permit our clients to be able to attend medical appointments, locate housing, pay utility bills, etc.,” he said. “These services are essential to the daily lives of PCACS’ clients and typically are not provided by other community agencies. Without these services, many of PCACS’ clients would not be able to continue to live independently.”

Based out of the Valparaiso office, Lowe is an attorney/partner with Blachly, Tabor, Bozik & Hartman, LLC.

“As an attorney, I devote a substantial amount of my legal practice towards representing units of government located throughout Northern Indiana,” he said. “My representation of these units of government affords me the opportunity to be well connected to the community.”

PCACS’ mission is to extend a helping hand to seniors, those with disabilities and low-income residents by providing services to improve their quality of life, including transportation, nutrition programs, energy assistance and activity centers.
