Opportunity Enterprises Family and Friends Together Meeting September 20

Opportunity Enterprises is hosting their next OE Family and Friends Together meeting on Monday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. Ellen DeMartinis, Vice President of Opportunity Enterprises, will give a presentation on the “Build OE Lakeside” capital campaign for the agency’s proposed building projects slated for its Lake Eliza property. oe_logo

In 2007, Opportunity Enterprises acquired 158 acres of land and water on Lake Eliza, renovated the existing facilities, and moved 100 clients from the industrial work center on Evans Avenue to this natural setting. Plans for the future of this property include the construction of an expanded day programming facility, the construction of accessible residential facilities, and the addition of park-like amenities to the property. The agency is currently seeking contributions to the campaign and each dollar raised will be generously matched by the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation.

Those interested in attending the meeting are asked to enter Opportunity Enterprises, 2801 Evans Avenue in Valparaiso, at the Training Room, Entrance #2, at the north end of the building. The meeting is open to the public; no reservations required.

The Family and Friends Together meetings are part of an Opportunity Enterprises initiative, Family and Consumer Supports. The program provides support for parents, siblings, guardians and friends of consumers, as well as an outlet to be actively engaged with loved ones. It was created by Opportunity Enterprises as it prepares for the increasing number of challenged individuals seeking services as they transition into new programs, the community or the workforce. The objective of this program is to better serve current and potential OE consumer families by sharing resources, information and volunteer opportunities.
