On-line Registration Closes May 3rd for “Great Futures Family Bike Ride”

BGC-Great-Futures-2012On-line registration ends May 3, 2012 for the “Great Futures Family Bike Ride”, which is taking place on May 5, 2012. Load up the bikes, grab the family and join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County for a non-competitive ride that will take place on the family-friendly Prairie-Duneland Trail. The Ride is open to the entire community. Walk-up registration and pre-registration check-in opens at 7:30 a.m. and the ride begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Chesterton trail head located between 15th Street and Jackson Boulevard.

Free bike safety inspections and helmet fittings are provided in the Community Area located at the Chesterton trail head. Kids will enjoy the special appearances by Rascal the Railcat and horses from the Porter County Sheriff Department’s Mounted Posse. Free refreshment stations will be available along the trail.

The cost is $5.00 per individual rider or $15.00 per family. Join the fun and register on-line today at www.bgcpoco.org. Helmets and close-toed shoes are required. A limited quantity of commemorative t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event for $10.00 each.
