NIPSCO’s month-long program resulted in nearly 800 combined volunteer hours
Throughout September, NIPSCO employees participated in various volunteering events throughout northern Indiana to make a difference through the company’s 13th annual Charity of Choice campaign.
Charity of Choice is NIPSCO's employee-driven, company-wide effort to provide a significant contribution of volunteer efforts to benefit a variety of community causes across NIPSCO’s service area. Similar to last year’s Charity of Choice, employees were able to choose from a number of volunteer opportunities throughout the month of September to get out with fellow NIPSCO team members and combine efforts, providing support to those in need throughout our communities.
In partnership with the NiSource Charitable Foundation, NIPSCO and Indiana-based NiSource team members volunteered nearly 800 service hours to local organizations.
Some of the organizations NIPSCO supported in the month of September included:
- Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne
- Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana
- United Way of Cass County
- Humane Indiana
- Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Inc.
- Habitat for Humanity of Kokomo
- Sojourner Truth House Inc.
- St. Jude House
- Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry in Fort Wayne
- TradeWinds Services, Inc.
“I am proud of our NIPSCO team members for rolling up their sleeves to support a host of
deserving organizations and help make a difference in the daily lives of communities across northern Indiana,” said Mike Hooper, NIPSCO president. “My NIPSCO colleagues never cease to amaze me with how big their hearts are and their level of commitment to give back to the communities we’re so privileged to collectively serve.”
