New White Sox Charities Fundraiser Benefits Pediatric Cancer Research and Treatment Programs

whitesoxlogo.gifThe Chicago White Sox will host the White Sox Charities Celebrity Bowling Classic, the club’s first-ever celebrity bowling fundraiser. Fans have the opportunity to join White Sox players and coaches as they trade in their spikes for bowling shoes and throw strikes of a different kind, in an effort to benefit pediatric cancer research and treatment programs at Children’s Memorial Hospital and University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.

The White Sox Celebrity Bowling Classic, presented by Miller Lite, will take place on Monday, August 23 at Lucky Strike Lanes (322 E. Illinois Street) in Chicago. The event runs from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and includes bowling, food, cocktails, a premium White Sox auction, raffle prizes and a special gift for all attendees.

Fans can participate in the event in a number of different ways. They can sign up as an individual “Ace,” who bowls 10 frames with a celebrity on their team, or as a “reliever” which is part of the lane cheer team. Fans also can fill a team of Aces by signing up five people, while a team of Relievers is four people.
