New Principal at Crisman

A transition in the leadership of Crisman Elementary is occurring. Mrs. Linda Kuss is being transferred to another administrative position to serve the school district. Mrs. Kuss has been the principal at Crisman since 1988. Throughout her career as Crisman School principal she has met her responsibilities with professional actions and with children as her first priority. Many students have grown in character and progressed in academics under her supervision. She has served the Crisman students, staff and community well. Sincerest thanks for all she has done.

Mr. Scott Hufford has been approved by the Board of School Trustees as the new Crisman School principal. The recommendation and approval occurred last night. As you may know, Mr. Hufford has been assigned to Crisman as the interim principal during Mrs. Kuss's absence that began in January.

Scott Hufford graduated from Portage High School in 1988 as Valedictorian of the class. He attended Washington University, graduating in 1992 with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. Scott achieved the educator's license from Valparaiso University and the Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Indiana State University. He has served Portage students as a teacher, coach, and administrator at our high school, Fegely Middle School, and now at Crisman.

Scott Hufford is a role model for students. He is a person of integrity, dedication to academic excellence, and a champion for our youth. The Crisman School community will continue to advance with his leadership and his passion for children.
