Students at Nativity of Our Savior School in Portage celebrated Unity Day on October 19, 2016 as a part of October's National Bullying Prevention Month. This is designated as the day everyone comes together—in schools, communities, and online—to send one large ORANGE message of support, hope, and unity to show that we are united against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
This year's theme was "United We Stand Against Bullying". Students wore orange to school to show their commitment. They also signed a banner pledging their support of fairness, kindness, respect and treating others as we would want to be treated. Students created anti-bullying posters to wave as they participated in a community walk outside on the school grounds to show their unity against bullying. This is the second year the entire school has participated in the event and walk.
