Myers Elementary kindergarten class learns about soil, water conservation

The kindergarten classes at Myers Elementary School had an in-school field trip with Michelle Bensen, from the Porter County Soil and Water Conservation Program, to use their five senses and learn about "Lots of Leaves."  Students heard a story about leaves.  They walked around the school and learned about the feel of leaves, the smell of evergreen trees, the look of the various edges and shapes of leaves and listened to the crunch of the dried leaves that have fallen from the trees and stepped on them as we walked.  Each child received their own magnifying glass to be curious and see the details up close of each leaf.
