Myers Elementary Celebrates Dr. Suess’s Birthday

Myers-Elementary-The-LoraxIn celebration of Dr. Seuss’s Birthday, Myers 4th graders invoked the message of The Lorax and engaged in a recycling project to bring attention to preserving the environment. Students gathered recyclables, broke into teams, and created a design plan for a useful product that only contained recycled materials. Once the students had constructed their prototype, they developed a commercial to persuade consumers to buy their recycled product. By coming up with their own action plan to reduce waste and help the environment, Myers students took Dr. Suess’ famous words to heart: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
