Memorial Opera House Entire 2016 Season Of Live Theatre Shows Is In The Hands Of The Public

rot1As part of its outreach to further engage the Porter County and northwest Indiana community, the Memorial Opera House is asking the public to choose the Musicals, Plays and Christmas live theatre shows for their entire 2016 Theatre Season.

“This is unprecedented. To our knowledge, no other community theatre group has ever asked the community to pick their entire theatre season,” said Trinidad Snider, Memorial Opera House Business Manager. “We can’t think of a better way to thank and honor our patrons than to have their voices be heard and present in our next season. Their support over the years means the world to us and their opinion matters!”

Through April 30th, the Memorial Opera House is offering a Patron Survey on their Facebook page. The survey offers nineteen choices for musicals, seven for plays, and four for their annual Christmas show. They will then attempt to secure the rights for the three musicals, one play and one Christmas show with the highest number of votes. As an extra added bonus, anyone who takes the survey on their Facebook page can also enter a random drawing for a chance to win one of five 2015 Memorial Opera House Theatre Season tickets.

“To date, nearly 600 patrons have completed the survey,” said Snider. “The results so far have been very surprising, and there are some neck and neck races for the top contenders in each category! A handful of votes could end up truly making a difference in which shows are chosen.”

Facebook users can go to the Memorial Opera House page at http://www.facebook.com/MemorialOperaHouse and find a link to the survey in the upper right column. A paper survey is also available at the Memorial Opera House Box Office at 104 Indiana Avenue in Valparaiso, although those who complete paper surveys will not qualify for the random drawing.
