Welcome to our Myers Second Grade Family! As our curriculum becomes more challenging, students have greater needs. Each child in 2nd grade has been assigned a home room which they report to every morning. However, in order to provide our 2nd graders with the differentiation necessary for student growth in math, reading, and writing/spelling, our team has developed a program to address those academic requirements.
Mrs. Vaught will teach writing/spelling, Mrs. Hargarten will teach reading, and Mrs. Porter will teach math. Each child will switch classes according to their academic needs, four days a week (Monday-Thursday) in both the morning and afternoon. Friday will be a day to test what they have learned that week as well as do some other second grade activities based on our curriculum.
