Medicare Open Enrollment Opportunity to Review, Change Plan

PCACS-Medicare-Open-Enrollment-Opportunity-to-Review-Change-PlanMedicare participants can change their plans during the annual Medicare Open Enrollment period through Dec. 7.

State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) volunteers are available to provide free and impartial counseling on Medicare choices as well as guidance on money savings programs that help pay for some or all Medicare costs.

“If you have Medicare, you should review your Part D coverage yearly during Open Enrollment. Even if you are happy with your plan, there may be a better fit for your budget and health needs,” said Ginger Brockwehl, SHIP coordinator and volunteer.

Volunteers are available to meet at SHIP offices, which are housed at Porter County Aging and Community Services, 1005 Campbell St.

To make an appointment or for more information, call (219) 464-1028 or e-mail SHIP@portercountyacs.org.

PCACS’ mission is to extend a helping hand to seniors, those with disabilities and low-income residents by providing services to improve their quality of life, including transportation, nutrition programs, energy assistance and activity centers.
