McGregor Exemplifies Selflessness to All

Michael-McGregorMichael McGregor is a student in Marci Johnson's fifth-grade class at Paul Saylor Elementary. Michael was nominated for the student spotlight because of his outstanding effort, as well as the selflessness that he exemplifies daily.

"One of the best things about Michael is that he is confident enough that he will always step in and say something if he sees someone being unkind," said Karen Kinsey, home school advisor at Saylor. "If everyone were like Michael, bullies would not stand a chance. When I talk with Michael, I can just see that he is going to be something great one day."

He is always willing to help out at school and at home. He is caring, compassionate, displays a positive attitude toward everyone and strives to be a peacemaker. He helps at school by raising and lowering the flag each day. He is always willing and ready to help out with any task that may need to be done.

Michael's favorite subject is math. He also enjoys sports, video games, spending time with friends, roller skating, reading, bowling and cooking. He is very helpful and respectful at home and helps his mom by cooking, cleaning and caring for his two younger sisters.

Michael says he respects and looks up to his grandpa because he is a war veteran. He teaches him respect and discipline, takes him places, and watches really good TV shows.

"I've got some plans after elementary school, big ones," said Michael.
