Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County Names Welch Director of Programs and Outcomes

dan-welchRyan Smiley, President of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County named long-serving employee Dan Welch as Director of Programs and Outcomes.

Since 1992, Dan Welch has been a part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County team serving in a variety of including Individual Services Director at the Valparaiso Unit (1993-1996), Athletic/Program Director at the South Haven Unit (1996-1999), Unit Director at the Portage Club (1999-2003), and Unit Director of our Valparaiso Club (2003-2014).

Recently promoted to Director of Programs & Outcomes, Welch is responsible for driving and supporting the development and maintenance of all strategic outcome-based program initiatives and partnerships which support the organization’s efforts to increase priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles for our members. This includes overseeing data tracking of membership and attendance trends, Club experience surveys and results, as well as overseeing grant compliance for the organization.

“This position will lead in shaping an infrastructure to support accurate measurement, analysis, and reporting of our work, creating a ‘data-rich ecosystem’ to leverage what we do and garner imperative resources to support, sustain, and ensure our relevance for future generations. Welch received a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from Purdue University and is a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America Academy at both the Youth Development and Management Professional levels. He is recognized for his work earning the very distinguished Man & Youth Award in 2012. Welch grew up as a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana – Cedar Lake Club. He lives in Hebron with his wife, Pam, and dog Eskimo. He also has three grown step-children.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County was founded in 1971 in Valparaiso, IN. Currently Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County operates four Club units in Valparaiso, Portage, South Haven, and Chesterton; manages a Club operation in Culver, IN; and operates Kidstop sites nine school locations.
