Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) will host its annual First Friday Open Mic Night on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. CST. All are welcome to enjoy lively performances, complimentary light refreshments and a cash bar. As always, admission is free.
Hosted once again by emcee Tim Rounds, LCA’s Open Mic Night provides a platform for local performers to share their talents with the community. Musicians, poets, stand-up comics and spoken word artists interested in performing can register online up by visiting LubeznikCenter.org/Events, clicking on “Open Mic Night” and following the link to the sign up form. Spots are limited and fill quickly, so sign up today.
Janet Bloch, LCA’s executive director said, “Open Mic Night is always a great surprise. The talent out there is pretty amazing! It encourages people of all ages to be brave and share their creativity. And I love our supportive audience.”
In addition to enjoying live performances, First Friday attendees can view "Healers and Dreamers" exhibition. The artworks in "Healers and Dreamers" provide viewers with insights for honoring and caring for ourselves and each other. They encourage grieving and healing the past, creating connection, protection and safety in the present and inspiring dreaming, creative thinking and liberation for the future.
