Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is hosting a free Family Day on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. (Central), and all families are invited to attend.
This free, drop-in event invites people of all ages to create a customized scent satchet inspired by the work of exhibiting artists Suzanne Kite and Alisha Wormsley. Participants can choose from fragrant herbs like lavender and sage held inside a decorative pouch, perfect for relaxation and dreamtime. Families can also enjoy a kid-friendly scavenger hunt through LCA's three galleries in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Family Days are particularly engaging for school-age children and their parents or caregivers, but all ages are welcome. Free snacks will be provided, and no advance registration is required.
Free Family Day offers children and adults opportunities to connect while exploring LCA’s exhibition, "Healers and Dreamers."
The artists in "Healers and Dreamers" have a shared interest in community care and healing practices. They combine their role as artists with that of therapists, healers, shamans, activists and oracles. Philosophically and practically their work emphasizes the importance of care, rest, dreamtime, meditation, connection, grieving and repairing as critical components to healing, resistance and liberation.
Healers and Dreamers is supported by Lynn and Allen Turner.
