Lubeznik Arts Festival is celebrating its 40th year on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT with a live mural invitational during the festival.
The festival draws children and adults from the Northwest Indiana region and beyond to Lubeznik Center for the Art’s (LCA) grounds and galleries. Festival goers enjoy fine arts and crafts from over 60 artists from across the nation, indoor exhibits, family art making, live demos, beer and wine, delicious local food vendors and much more.
New to the Lubeznik Arts Festival this year is the mural invitational. LCA has invited three regional artists to create murals live during the festival. These artists, Chris Silva, Dredske and FLEX, will take three 8 feet by 8 feet blank surfaces and create three brand new murals while festival-goers watch. Spectators are encouraged to vote for their favorite mural.
“For the festival’s 40th anniversary, we’re so excited to offer some new, exciting elements to the festival! The mural event adds live action and interactive voting. All we need is great weather!” said, Janet Bloch, LCA’s executive director.
