Lakeshore Drive Radio – IIM Media Publisher on 89.1 FM Dec 28 – A Year in the Region in Review

On Wednesday, Ideas in Motion Media Publisher Chris Mahlmann joined Tavis Buchan on The Lakeshore 89.1 FM’s “Lakeshore Drive” program, which runs Monday through Friday from 4:00pm - 5:30pm, to talk about the Life websites, Northwest Indiana, and partnering with several groups in the region.  Chris connects with Tavis every Wednesday at 4:40pm in a partnership between LakeShore and the LIFE sites.

It's a Year in Review of the Region, and Chris Mahlmann talked about all the positive news and personalities that the region has brought to us this year.

Chris's "Most Impactful Personalities" included political leaders Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator Richard Lugar, Mayor Olga Velazquez, Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr., and business leaders Jonathan Nalli and Mark Forszt.

Chris talked about how tough, resilient and creative the Region is. New developments are cropping up, and small businesses are weathering a tough economy. Despite the economic downturns of the past year, the region is surviving and thriving.

Looking back at this year's notable 'Region Tweets', Chris recalled 'Help a Family in Need', an effort to help a family keep their house after one family members was diagnosed with cancer. Chris also mentioned all of the New Year Party tweets coming through and the reaction to the winter's first snow. Finally, Steve Dalton and Chris are working on the 'Lifer's Almanac', predictions for 2012.

Chris made his own predictions for the new year, and talked about all the great things that will be coming up. Chris will be meeting with incoming mayors Blair Milo and Karen Freeman-Wilson, as well as mayor Anthony Copeland.
