Krannert Operations Conference to Focus on Opportunities Ahead

Krannert School of Management's Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises and Global Supply Chain Management Initiative are sponsoring the Sept. 17 conference. The event will bring together industry leaders, faculty and students for a look at new opportunities that offer the chance for growth and innovation in Indiana and beyond.

Ananth Iyer, director of the centers and the Susan Bulkeley Butler Chair in Operations Management, will lead the conference.

Speakers will share information about new ventures, innovative management, and growth opportunities in a variety of industries and businesses. Among those on the agenda are Richard Sepeta, Delphi Electronics; Steve Blanco, Eaton Corp.; Laura Sheets, Duke Energy; Ignacio Garcia, Cummins; Patsy Sebben, John Deere; and Tom Easterday, Subaru of Indiana Automotive.

David Hummels, the 2010 DeVos Operations Research awardee, will discuss his work on disorganization and diversification in global supply chains.

The conference also will feature the student summer internship poster competition. Students' posters will describe their summer internship experiences and will be judged by attending industry personnel.
