Kidstop Celebrates Spring Break at Valpo Boys and Girls Club

Dora-Devine-and-Regan-CookBoys & Girls Clubs of Porter County Kidstop program celebrated their Spring Break holiday engaged in a variety of activities. On Monday the children played on a moonwalk/slide, made Clapping Mouths, prepared eggs by putting them in vinegar to see if after three days they really do bounce (they do), and learned about how tobacco is not good for your body. On Tuesday, the children played walk the egg, made a bird’s nest out of chocolate and chow mein noodles, made muffin flowers, chick sticks and played games like mum ball and “catch don’t catch”. On Wednesday, the children made paper plate bunnies, learned about buoyancy, colored Easter eggs and played Bunny Bunny Rabbit. On Thursday, the children had an M & M toss, made button rings and bookmarks and on Friday they made puzzle lanks, created works of art with foamy paint, and made oatmeal clay.

Kidstop is a fun childcare alternative, supervised by trained staff where children are given the opportunity to participate in creative play, recreational and gym activities, as well as working on age appropriate learning activities, homework help, and arts and crafts. Programs are open to all children in the community enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade. For more information about Kidstop programs and times, please call (219) 464-7282 x 241.
