Kent’s Run 5K Raises $40,000 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Event Has Raised $116,000 in Four Years

kentsrun-check-2011On Thursday, October 13, 2011, the Kent's Run 5K race committee and executives from Walgreens presented a check in the amount of $40,000 to Amy Kwaas, Executive Director of the Indiana Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The check presentation took place at Boone Grove High School.

The 4th annual Kent's Run 5K was held last May 28th at Boone Grove Middle School, and nearly 1,000 runners and walkers participated in the event. Presenting sponsor Walgreens joined the event in 2011 and was active in encouraging its customers and employees in Northwest Indiana to participate. Over the past four years this event has raised $116,000 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Kent's Run was established in 2007 to honor the memory of Kent Ribordy, a Boone Grove High School student-athlete whose life was taken away suddenly by leukemia.
