Join Portage First United Methodist in Observing Holy Week

first-united-methodist-portagePortage First United Methodist Church invites all to participate in the celebration and observance of Holy Week 2012.

Maundy Thursday, the day we remember Jesus' last supper with his disciples, will be observed with worship in an intimate setting. Featuring music from the praise team and choir, we will also celebrate Holy Communion. The service is on April 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Good Friday (April 6) is the day we remember Jesus' death on the cross. We will offer two services. The first one, at 12:10 p.m., is designed to be a quiet, meditative service meant to fit into your lunch hour. The evening service, at 7:00 p.m., is a traditional Tenebrae (darkness) service, recalling the story of Jesus' crucifixion in Scripture and song. Music will be featured by the praise team, choir and SONday GLOry band.

Easter celebrations will be held at four different times. Saturday evening, April 7, at 5:30 p.m., our offsite service at Myers Elementary, PF Hope, will celebrate Easter just a bit early. Led by the band, SONday GLOry, this nontraditional service is open to all. On Sunday morning, April 8, we will celebrate the risen Jesus in three services: 8:30 (Traditional), 10:00 (Blended) and 11:30 (Contemporary).

If you're looking for a family to celebrate with and a place to belong where you are loved, come join us at Portage First United Methodist Church - Saturdays at Myers Elementary (3100 Willowdale Rd., Portage) and Sundays at McCool (2637 McCool Rd., Portage).
