Jewelry Making Classes at the Portage Library

CAC-Byzantine-BraceletMara Wible, formerly of MegaBeads will lead jewelry making classes Fridays in July 2012. Pre-registration at the library is required before each class and cash payment will be taken at registration.

July 6, 11 am – 1pm: Byzantine Bracelet. A Byzantine chain is a 4 in 1 chain meaning that each chain passes through four others. This chain is supple and flexible draping gracefully like rope. Fee is $20.00, all supplies included.

July 13, 2 -4 pm: Full Persian Bracelet. This bracelet originates from an old chain maille weave and is the base for other chain maille techniques. Fee is $25.00, all supplies included

July 20, 11 am – 1pm: Box Chain Bracelet. In the European family of chain maille weaves, Box chain starts out like Byzantine but ends up something different. Fee is $20.00, all supplies included.

July 27, 2 -4 pm: Celtic Bracelet. The Celtic line bracelet has an Irish feel to it. The jump rings form circles within circles that are stylish and appealing. Fee is $25.00, all supplies included.
