Ivory Brown a Star Student at Aylesworth

Ivory-BrownIvory Brown is a third grade student at Aylesworth Elementary. She was nominated for the student spotlight by her teacher, Heather Maxwell, because of her display of all 40 developmental assets.

In the classroom, Maxwell said that Ivory is a dream student. She is kind and considerate to everyone that she comes in contact with. She works hard at everything that she does and does not hesitate to take any opportunity to improve herself. No matter the task, she always gives it her best.

Her favorite subjects are reading and math. Not only are they Ivory's favorite subjects, but she excels in them, as well. Ivory's mother, Sheba, states that at home Ivory is a well behaved girl who always does what she is asked. She is very responsible and dependable. Whenever something is asked of her, you can count on her to get it done in the best way possible. Her most outstanding quality, according to her mom, would have to be the ability to be so independent in everything she does.

During her free time, she loves to color and bake cookies with her mother. Her favorite cookie is chocolate chip. She also is excited to be a big sister next month. We are certain she will be a great helper. Ivory said her role model is her mother, because "my mom is the one person that is always there for me when I need help with my homework and anything else that I need."

The Kiwanis Student Spotlight is provided by the Portage Kiwanis club and the Portage Parent Network to recognize students in the Portage Township schools.
