IUN Volleyball Signs Hobart Stand Out

brickie-VB-1Caylie Pruitt has become the newest member of the Lady RedHawks Volleyball team! Pruitt, a 5'10" Outside Hitter led her team at Hobart High School, by serving as a four year Varsity Captain. She led her teams in kills and digs this past season as a six rotation player. "Caylie will bring versatility to the RedHawks lineup this season", states Coach Diane White. "She has a powerful swing and has a high volleyball IQ, making her a threat in all positions".

Pruitt states, "I'm excited the most to become a RedHawk to get the experience and continue my volleyball career! I love the game and the people on the team are awesome and that will make it more fun to play!". In the off-season, Pruitt plays beach volleyball as well. She plans to study Dental Hygiene.

Pruitt will be joining a very strong recruiting class in 2014, including LaPorte stand out Madison Kessler, Rich-South High School's LaChelle Smith, and Indianapolis Libero Abby Stultz and Setter Alix Baugh."I am thrilled at the level of talent we were able to recruit this season. Volleyball at IUN is changing. We are building a very competitive program, and this group will be the start of a new culture", added White.

The recruits will join an experienced squad from 2013, Petra Faught (4-year starter and A.I.I. Conference Honorable Mention), Natasha VanGilder (A.I.I. Conference Tournament Team), Mackenzie Westgate, Haley Saksa, Tyler Person, Cambria Wynsma, Elexus Carroll, Laquona Carpenter, and Jearleen Steele.
