The Indiana University Northwest Dance Company invites the community for its annual Festival of Dance, set for 7:30 p.m., Feb. 13 and 14 and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15 at Theatre Northwest on Grant, 3660 Grant St., located one mile west of the main campus at 37th Avenue and Grant Street.
The six dances that will be performed represent a diverse range of dance styles, from Afro-modern to musical theatre jazz, and contemporary pointe.
The choreography is by IU Northwest Dance Company Director Megan Lindsay as well as student choreographer, Lauren Rouse. The lighting for the show is done entirely by performing arts students.
Participation in the IU Northwest Dance Company is open to adults 18 years of age and older. IU Northwest students, regardless of their academic major, are invited to participate in auditions as well as dancers of every skill level from the general community. Beginners are welcome.
Tickets are $5 and advance reservations are strongly recommended as seating is limited for this popular event.
