Last week first gade took their annual fall field trip to Buckley Homestead. We had a great time learning about what life was like long ago. While we were there we also hiked along trails and we able to see lots of fall colors in the trees around us.
Here you can see Ashton Robinson demonstrating how the 1850’s pioneers retrieved water from streams. Next to him is a volunteer from Buckley Homestead. In the background, Cheyenne Barnett is visible along with other students from Mrs. Diane Zuick’s class.
Here is a picture of Mrs. Alesia Campbell’s class seeing what school was like back in the 1850’s. We learned that ladies always enter school first and when we sit at our seats our hands are folded nicely on our desks. While visiting we also learned how the school house was heated, where the students ate their lunches, and what they used to be learning in school.
