Cyrus McCormick

Cyrus Hall McCormick Sr. was an American Inventor and founder of the "McCormick Harvesting Machine Company" which later in 1902 became "International Harvester Company". McCormick held the patent of the original mechanical Reaper which was intended to harvest grain. None of these original machines sold on the market and he kept working to improve the design to prove the value of his invention.
After his refinements and second patent, his labors paid off as he started selling many of his new Reapers to farmers who wanted his product. Many prizes and medals were awarded for his Reaper, but his biggest achievement was changing the face of agriculture and accomplishing more for the cause of Agriculture than any other man.
