Tune in to your televisions on October 20 at 12:30pm, because one of the best restaurants in Northwest Indiana, Industrial Revolution Eatery & Grille, is going to be on TV! Travel television series “The Official Best Of” flagged the restaurant as the official best industrial-themed restaurant in the country!
The filming crew set up shop at Industrial Revolution on September 12 to capture all its unique qualities. Oren Benamore, Production Director, paused between filming and interviewing patrons to give his nod of approval for the restaurant.
“It meets if not exceeds my expectations,” Benamore said. “It’s pretty outstanding what they did with the architecture alone. I’m kind of a history nut, so I very much appreciate it and it really speaks to me in that way.”
Benamore gestured to the surrounding customers eating lunch.
“Seems like I’m not alone, though!” he said. “Looks like they’ve got a really great local fanbase. Especially sitting in the environment they’ve created, I can feel that this is a one of a kind place for sure, This is a really spot-on place for us to highlight.”
Jennifer Sue Leeson, Director of Operations for Industrial Revolution Eatery & Grille, said that she and the rest of the staff had been ecstatic ever since “Official Best Of” reached out to them.
“It’s really exciting they want us to be part of their production,” Leeson said. “The Official Best Industrial Themed Restaurant, I mean that’s amazing.”
Leeson said she hopes that, while the restaurant maintains an incredibly popular reputation among Midwestern travelers, she hopes appearing on the series will place Industrial Revolution on more of a cross-country map.
“We’re big with travelers, we’re a destination, and I’m hoping this gets out to more people so it’s not just a local destination between Michigan and Illinois,” Leeson said. “We would love to get more people traveling from across the states that want to come and check us out.”
Hopefully, diners will experience a little taste of all the restaurant has to offer when they tune in to the show.
“We’re not just a restaurant; we have a unique service, we have a unique theme, we have the salutes [to historical figures] that we do weekly,” Leeson said. “We strive for the experience to be unique whether it’s your first time here or your twentieth time.”
“The Official Best Of” is currently broadcasting its eleventh season of filming, and Industrial Revolution Eatery & Grille will be an excellent highpoint among the series’ many noteworthy travel destinations.
“This definitely represents a part of history worth mentioning and exploring,” Benamore said.
