Chris LaVelle has decided to continue his education and golfing career at Indiana University Northwest. Chris has been Hobart High School's number one golfer, team MVP, and a first team all conference selection in his first three seasons with coach Brent Vermeulen.
"Chris has played in regionals as an individual, carries a 3.0 GPA, and practices golf from sun up to sun down. To say we are excited about Chris deciding to attend IUN is an understatement" said coach Bishop.
Chris plans to major in business while attending Indiana University Northwest and continuing in his parents footsteps who both graduated from IUN. Coach Ryan Bishop stated, "Chris will contribute to our team next season, along with our other recruits from the class of 2016 and he will make an immediate impact."
The RedHawks golf program has now signed five 2016 graduates to build a base of talented players that will have competition at all spots in the lineup. Coach Bishop also stated "My goal since I got here was to get our RedHawk program up and running but to do so in a manner that would have our team competitive in a short time. Hosting our conference tournament this season will allow the high school players in the area to come out and watch the talent that is displayed on the NAIA level along with bring recognition to our growing program." It is a very exciting time to be part of the Indiana University Northwest golf program and we welcome Chris LaVelle to our RedHawk athletics family.
