Indiana University Northwest announces fall Open House and full calendar of Admissions events for high school students and transfer students

Events allow students to explore college options, experience what it’s like to be a college student, learn about ways to pay for college, and more

Gary, Ind. – Indiana University Northwest is hosting a series of fall Admissions events designed to help high school students plan for college and learn more about the IU Northwest campus. A full slate of events is planned for September and October, including:

  • Overviews of the admission process, selecting a major, financial aid and more
  • A session for parents on paying for college
  • Informational events for current college students who are considering transferring to IU Northwest
  • An inspirational conversation with Jon R. Becker, author and self-professed flunked-out professor, on how to overcome failure and truly succeed
  • A virtual tour of IU Northwest featuring campus’s hidden gems and favorite student spots

All events are free and open to high school students, transfer students, and their parents. Most will take place on the Zoom video communications platform; several will be held on campus. Start times vary and participants are required to register for each session in advance, unless otherwise noted.

September 23

  • Operation R.E.D: RedHawk Experience Day - Be a student for a day! Visit campus, meet current students, explore student activities, and enjoy lunch on campus. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Office of Admissions, Hawthorn Hall, Room 100. Register here.

September 24

  • RedHawk Rush Day - Drop in all day! Apply for free, tour campus, and meet with an Admissions Counselor. Swap your high school t-shirt for one of ours. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Office of Admissions, Hawthorn Hall, Room 100. Register here.

September 28

  • Transfer Tuesday Scholarship Edition - Let’s talk transfer! Learn about the transfer process, scholarships, and more. 6 p.m., via Zoom. Register here.

October 18

  • Instant Decision Day - Ready to apply? Receive an on-the-spot admissions decision. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Office of Admissions, Hawthorn Hall, Room 100. Register here.

October 19

  • Hidden Gems -Experience the beauty of our 43-acre campus with a virtual tour exploring hidden gems and students’ favorite spots. 4 p.m., via Zoom. Register here.

October 20

  • Pic & Post - Show your love for IU Northwest! Stop by our office for a free t-shirt. Post a pic online. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Office of Admissions, Hawthorn Hall, Room 100. Registration NOT required.

October 21

  • Transfer Café -Join us for coffee and a conversation about the transfer process. Learn about admission requirements, credit transfers, tour campus, and more. 9 a.m. to noon in the Office of Admissions, Hawthorn Hall, Room 100. Register here.

October 22

  • Real Talk - Join us for an uplifting conversation with Jon R. Becker and learn how to change your big failures into even bigger successes. 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Arts & Sciences Building, Room 1010. Register here.

  • Open House - Experience what it’s like to be a student! Build your own schedule, head to the classroom, chat with students, faculty, and advisors. 9 a.m. Early Bird Campus Tour | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open House in the Office of Admissions, Hawthorn Hall, Room 100. Register here.
