A supervisor can make or break employee morale and productivity in a workplace, as well as open a company to lawsuits, fines, penalties and damage awards if supervisors’ rights and responsibilities under state and federal law are not followed.
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce aims to help keep Hoosier companies in compliance with the newly-updated publication, The Supervisor’s Handbook – 2nd Edition.
Written by a team of attorneys from the Indianapolis office of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, the easy-to-read guide includes checklists, charts and sample forms for supervisors.
The handbook includes practical tips for documenting disciplinary and other actions, such as implementing investigations and administering drug and alcohol policies; revised sections on the Americans with Disabilities Act; a new “reasonable accommodations” checklist; an updated chapter on the Family and Medical Leave Act; and a revamped section on Indiana’s unemployment law and the procedure for posting and responding to former employees’ claims for benefits.
Cost is $74.25 for Indiana Chamber members and $99 for non-members. An e-Pub version is also available for $69.
